Department of Transportation Qualified Substance Abuse Professional
I am a QSAP and can walk you through the DOT return to duty process from start to finish. If you are looking for a SAP closer to your area, I recommend using this search tool to find a provider near you: https://www.saplist.com/
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare. I invite you to learn more about the return to duty process, and DOT regulations here: https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/sap
DOT regulations affect drug and alcohol testing of applicants/ employees with the following agencies:
FAA, FMCSA, FRA, FTA, USCG, PHMSA
All SAP's must conduct a face-to-face clinical evaluation of the employee. DOT's rule then requires the SAP to recommend treatment and/or education for the employee. Once that process is completed, the employee returns to the SAP for a second meeting for return to duty instructions.
Recommended education and my SAP charges are separate.
I do not accept insurance for SAP assessments.
Call, email, or submit a contact form for an appointment. Appointments are generally set within 24 to 48 hrs of your initial call.
